Who is .SplitPea.
.SplitPea. is owned and operated by avid gardener and urban homesteader, Niky Dryden. She's had over 11 years experience in gardening and working on community projects before starting .SplitPea. professionally.
Niky is passionate about all things homegrown and sharing her knowledge about the importance of self sufficiency and sustainability in today's world. She emphasizes the necessity for diverse landscaping to support productive crops, native pollinator conservation and healthy ecosystems. Following Permaculture principles, she enjoys setting up natural and closed loop systems to encourage less waste and higher output for a healthier future.
She is married with 2 active little boys, living on a 5,227 square foot plot in Boise, Idaho and squeezing as much produce and livestock as she can on her tiny urban homestead. She has always been a "do-it-yourselfer" and thrives on challenges. She feels that homestead failures are the best learning tools to provide future successes. She consistently works on expanding her knowledge with the oldest and newest ideas by participating in workshops, mentorships, researching, connecting with the community and getting her hands dirty.
Now in her fourth professional season, she is eager to inspire excitement around self sufficiency, sustainability and creative thinking in hope of securing a healthier future for our communities.
